Starvation Ice
#1
I stopped by Starvation Monday on the way back from Pelican. I took some pictures of the ice.

You can see how the ice has staked up on the shore.

It looked like the whole lake was frozen.

It looked like someone had been out on the ice.

The lake was frozen down to the bridge however it was open past the bridge.

Yeah it has good population of eyes, from 8-11". Oh well, their fillets fit pretty good in a 6" bun so I'll probably make a run up there before to long.

There was a group of 10 or 12 BFT members that fished it
last winter with limited success. We caught a few small eyes but they were hard to come by. In the tournament that is held there every year(soft water), there are always some eyes caught that are 5 to 8 lbs, so there are some big eyes in the lake. You might need that dynamite if you fish it this winter and want to catch some eyes but you might get lucky and learn where some hot spots are if one of the locals show up. There is one guy that fishes it in the winter that knows where they hang out by the dam, I wouldn't doubt those holes were dug by him. Good luck if you go. WH2
