Cleared the dam at about 9am, called on 12-0 and got a reply "slow for trout by the dam" "on 11" perch at the south west end" I went for the perch.
Tried a couple of holes without much, called on 12 again and got an invite from a man and his daughter to fish by them. Started catching, took till 1pm to get two limits (mine and my buddies) we actually were 2 short but the fish had slowed down and we had caught 2 6" fish in a row so we called it quits.
While fishing by the man and his daughter the discussion came up as to how many fish she could keep being under the age of 14 and not licenced.
He thought she could keep 10, I thought 20. A check of the proc reads Section IV, C-5 states that "a person under 14 may fish without a licence and take a full bag and possession limit."

I had the same question about kids limits while we were fishing on Saturday. I remember reading the proc. last year and noticed the change for kids. When my kids were young, the little ones under 8, I think had to share your limit. Over 8 and under 12 could keep 1/2 of your limit or something like that. Now any kid under 14 can keep one full limit. I like the new rule. It should have always been that way. Sure is easier to remember, and makes the kids happy.

Fished Sun. from 8:15 a.m. till about 1:00 p.m. from the third pullout. We caught lots of perch. I wasn't having much luck for trout, but my son on the other hand was doing quite well with the trout. There was two guys next to us that weren't having much luck for anything, so I invited them to come over by us and they still weren't having much luck. One of them had only been ice fishing 2x, so I let him use my set up, in my hole. On the first drop down he caught the biggest trout of the day 17" , go figure? He proceeded to catch 5 more trout out of my hole. He was having a great time catching perch also. His buddie on the other hand only caught 5 or so perch. The guy told me that he was now hooked on ice fishing and thanked me for the expreience! I fished for about 1/2 hr. or so but still no trout for me today!!! But it was a great feeling helping someone experience how much fun you can have on the ice... also met Fish1on it was great getting to know you and your son... B4B

It was nice meeting you too dude! I called Lance on my Nextell today and clued him in on our meeting. You are great people and I hope to fish with ya soon. Lance had nothing but compliments for ya and I backed them 100%. Any time you want to hook up for a family fun day let me know. I am mostly at Bear Lake on the weekends as we discussed but open to any other offers.
Me and my boy got 25 perch, me 5 him 20... What a cool day for him! Lance showed me a rig setup that I tied on for my son and he was into them pretty good. I on the other hand was too busy BS'ing with all the friendly folks and enjoying my kid catch fish.
Tonight I made a batch of Ceviche (thanks tubedude and BLM for sharing your recipies again) and will be doing a bear batter deep fry with the rest. Nice Valentines Day meal HUH!!!
