Still Lots of Kings, Little Tunnys: Naples, FL Fishbuster Dave
#1
[cool]We fished Sunday, ten miles off the Ritz Carlton, with the Page party, targeting the big kings that bit well all last week. We released thirty of those to 25 pounds, along with Spanish mackerel to 25 inches, jack cravalle to 10 pounds, and little tunnys to 12 pounds, all on shiners. Fishing the same area Monday with the Burkert party, we caught a 20 pound kingfish, along with a couple in the 8-10 pound range, little tunnys to 10 pounds, a 37 inch cobia, a 16 inch hogfish, and mangrove snapper. The hogfish bit a shrimp, but we caught the rest on shiners. Wednesday, we fished with the Reid party inside Estero Bay, from New Pass to Intrepid Waters, along the west wall. Using shrimp, we released three redfish to 22 inches, four snook to 24 inches, mangrove snapper and ladyfish. Believe it or not, we hooked a mullet on a shrimp, under the mangroves at New Pass--A first for us! Friday, about 8 miles off the Ritz, the LoPresti party caught another ten pound little tunny, triggerfish, Spanish mackerel and porkfish, before the rough 4-5 foot seas drove us in.
