Flaming Gorge Saturday 3/5
#1
Hit the big pond Saturday. We took our boys and the boat and launched at the Lucerne ramp. No ice. Started off quite cool but no W... Hit Swim Beach and tried several of our usual spots. Fish were somewhat scattered. They were fussy. We got to our spot about 8:00 am. and there were already 8 boats pounding on them. I guess the nice weather gets them out. Anyway, we had alot of chasers and by buddy had a couple hits but we didn't boat any. I can't remember the last time we got skunked. The weather just got better. Sunny and warmed up good.

After reading Fishley's report of ripping them at Antelope, I guess we should have tried there. At any rate, I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday than with my friends and our boys. And what a beautiful day to get skunked!

Sorry to hear ya didnt get into em J but atleast the weather was good for you. And after all,, theres a lot more to going fishing than catching like simply getting out of the house and spending time with family and friends . Better luck next time..

I forgot to mention for anyone interested, there is open water throughout Linwood Bay, Antelope, Swim Beach and north for about a 1/2 mile north of the pipeline. I didn't check the canyon. The ramp is dry. Early there was some thin ice around the edges. FYI.

I went on a rode trip last week-end and ended up at the Gorge. FYI sheep creek bay and boat ramp was iced over with 2-3 inches of unsafe ice. Many more days like this and it will be ice free soon.

Thats what I'm waiting for. Ihave a few honey holes up the canyon near Sheep Creek. They are always red hot just at ice out. If anyone is up there in the next few weeks, please report on the ice situation around sheep creek.
