#1
Has anyone been to Hyrum? How is the ice with this warm weather.
I was talking to a friend of mine and he clams the is still 12 inches.
Was thinking of going but wanted to make sure.

[black]There are folks fishing it as we speak. The edges are looking so-so but the main body of ice seems to be great.[/black]

I fished Hyrum today near the south end. The ice is starting to get pretty soft, and when I left around noon the top was getting pretty slushy. There is still about 12 inches of "ice", but it won't last long. The edges are bad, so be prepared if you go. I watched one guy go in up to his waist when he was leaving the ice - good thing he was wearing waders. The fishing sucked for me, but others were catching fish. I fished Hyrum twice this year, and I don't know why I went back - I iced a total of one fish between the two outings. The fish that I saw being caught were 10-14 inch rainbows. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the info. I was going to try it but with all the open water I might just have to get the boat ready. Hate to see ice fishing come to a end. Drove up to look around yesterday at Rockport & theirs a lot of open water. East Canyon is next to ice free with a lot of trollers out. Stopped at the boat ramp and there catching some pretty nice fish. In the 14-16" range. Lot of people fishing off the bank. Does anyone know how Sheep Creek is? Was wondering if it's iced over or open water.
