well my wife gave me Mothers day off yesterday to do some fishing.. so i decided i would finley get the boat up to joe's valley!!
so I got out of the house around 5:00 am and started our adventure..

as we got to the top of fairview canyon the fog was so thick it was 10 mph tell just before huntington res.. after that it was a smoth ride all the way to Joe's vally..

well finley got to Joe's valley about 7:30 pulled in to the marina to see 15 feet of deep muck in frount of the ramp...man i hate it when that happens.. but what realy [#ff0000](BLEEPS)[/#ff0000] me off is there is a new ramp over on the north east side and some [#ff0000](BIG SILLIES) [/#ff0000](DWR or Water users) have it closed!!!

so that was a real bummer!! so then we had to make a decision on wether we were going some were else and run the boat or just fish from the shore.. well i was going to run the boat one way or another..
so we headed to Huntington game pond near the town of huntington..

ok we got there thinking that we were going to do some fishing for bass or bluegills.. but the ranger said that the brown fishing was doing better.. so we started out trolling.. i hit the first fish 10 min's into it a big fat 12" chub.. ok took the spinner and worm off right after that.. and put a big yellow zipfish on and in a nother 10 min's i had another hit this time it was a 2 lbs brown.. sweet!!

well we went another 1/2 hour and i hit another fish this time a fat rainbow.. then my buddy hit one on a perch jointed Kwikfish..
after about a 10 min fight we pulled in a nice 3 1/2 lbs brown..
we cought around 8 more browns before the trolling motor ran out of gas.. man i hate it when that happens.. well we decided to go in shalow and see if there was any bluegills bitting..
no luck on the gills so called it a day.. what a great day on the water even got a bit of a sun burn.. sorry no pic.s left the camrea in the truck and we did not keep any of the fish..

fuzz, great day. You can't complain about catching browns! You said the fog cleared about the time you passed Hunington Res. How is the snow and ice levels up there? I imagine that there still is a pretty good amount on the res. Jake

hey jake.. there is still alot of snow up there on the ground.. the lake is comeing up and there are some open spots around the lake.. but not anything that could be fished.. looks like about 2 or 3 weeks for huntington.. E-lake is looking like about the end of this week or the first of next week the south end by the dam should open up and be great fishing.. most the snow has melted off the dam and the side hills so the walk should not be to bad..

Hey Don glad to hear your grandson is doing better!! thats the best news i'v heard for a while..
no i was haveing one of them days sunday. a good luck bad luck day..
started out good luck the wether was good..
then bad luck with the fog so bad i could hardly see to drive through it..
then good luck the drive was great from huntington res to Joe's valley..
then big time bad luck one boat ramp high and dry and the other one colsed..
then good luck getting on huntington game pond and haveing it to our selfs most the day..
and some more good luck that i left my trolling stuf in the boat last year..
then a little more good luck getting into them nice browns..
then the bad luck left the camrea in the truck..
then more bad luck i was not planing on doing any trolling at Joe's valley so i did not get any gas for the trolling motor so did not take long to run it out..
then good luck i did have the new E-Motor up and running so we did get another 3 hours trolling in..
then more bad luck the fish only want the trolled offrings..
but all in all a good day fishing
i did save the chuby for a special hole i know of.. Wink Wink.

Yeah its good to have G-pa's little guy teasin the nurses with the call button (who might have taught him that? [angelic]) and stirrin' trouble again.. It tells me he's on his way back in a big way, lol..

Sounds like your first run with the Boat this year didnt turn out all bad, just parts of it..

Glad it was kept, it should come in might handly me thinks! A couple 3 dozen more (each) and we're gone![laugh]
