What did you catch them on and what area of the harbor? If you don't mind me asking.

Looked at some of your pictures on your Web site. Have you been on "Outdoors with Doug Miller"?
Mind instructing us on how to fish the harbors for LMB? I've thrown a few Senkos into the rocks and jigged them down the shore, but thus far I've had no takers.
Any advice?
Many thanks,
PF

Yeah, I have been on that show. Harbors of Utah Lake hold some monsters. I actually think when you hear reports of guys hooking in to a big "something" that breaks them off it's a largemouth bass. I have personally landed several fish over 5lbs just out of Lindon. Texas rigged tubes work great! If there is a breeze, throw a spinnerbait. Stained blades like brass or copper work the best. Senkos work but only when you texpose them and throw them in to the structure. Jig & Pig is another killer. Anything that resembles crayfish. The bass are no more than 10" to 3ft off the bank at all times. Slow retrieval in the spring and speed it up in the summer. Provo Boat Harbor has a new dike I am positive that there will be some monsters hanging out there as well. Jeeze, all of the harbors have produced some fish. I am going out to Lindon on saturday to teach my neighbor on the basics of Bassin' Stop by and maybe we will see eachother.

Hey thanks for the suggestions. I would really like to hook up with you sometime and fish a little for the largies. It was just last year that I caught my first largemouth. Now, after learning quite a bit about how to catch them and after experiencing a few successful fishing trips where I've caught several, they're my favorite fish by far.
I'll see if I can't sneak away on Saturday and make it over to Lindon. I appreciate that you're willing to share your knowledge and tactics.

I would really like to, but all I have access to right now is a 14' aluminum boat that a neighbor and I jointly own.
Hopefully if things keep getting better at my place of employment, I'll be able to outfit myself a bit better in the near future.
I guess I could get pretty creative with the small aluminum boat, however. The bass club idea is definitely something to think about. Thanks for the suggestion.

Okay, you're getting me more interested. Could you suggest a good club or two that I could contact for more information? It sounds like you are familiar with at least one or two.
Anybody else have any suggestions on respectable bass clubs that meet and fish frequently in Utah County?
Many thanks.

We meet the 1st weds of the month at Flirts(an eatery/social club) in Lehi until Cabelas gets their conference centers going. Then, we will meet at Cabelas. We currently looking for people that do not have boats(my first 3years I use my Bayliner pos fish-n-ski or I fished as a non-boater).
Just going to the meetings and other events, I learned a ton. The learning curve takes some time. Kinda like learning to throw a baitcasting reel. The cool thing is you can use bass fishing techinques for trout, walleye, and just about any other species.
We have some guys that are pro's, wanna be pro's, professional amateurs(me), and folks that just want to learn about fishing for bass. UTBASS, Clifie is in our club too(and boy do we regret it,lol).
If anyone has any questions just send me a message.

Thanks tome ... I appreciate the plug! Bass clubs are the coolest thing because of the time on the water you get to spend with others who enjoy the hawgz. I get a thrill when your sitting on a lake waiting for the blast off just before a tourney ... 75mph to the first hole then blamo! your skills come in to play and if your lacking ... No big deal! It's all about the learning baby! Besides, catching a fish that will take a baby duck of the surface without making any noise says alot about bass. I just freakin' love them! I will fish any time anywhere with anyone who wants to learn. just PM me and it's on!

Tomegun and UTBass,
Thanks for all the info. I'm currently in the final stages of selling my home, so things are a little crazy right now. (I should be out by the end of May.)
As soon as things settle down a little, I'll PM you Tomegun and see if I can't make it out to one of the meetings. I appreciate the invitation.
