I fished Smith and Morehouse from my yak on Saturday from 7 am to 11 am. I caught 9 tiny Slime-bows on a shad rap. Fishing was slow.I caught 2 by the dam and the rest were caught bewteen the Boat ramp the fisrt turn out.
Just a warning. The Road up is really rough and bad. If you take a car go real slow. As far as I could see the campgrounds are close and theres pockets of snow in them. Will they open next weekend. I can't tell you. The Reservoir is filling and is near spilling. There is a lot of lumber and junk afloat so be careful if you go up there with a motor on your boat. The water is also very stained and cold.

Hey Coot,
I love that place also. I forgot to add that While I was trolling from the yak I saw a Osprey came off of her nest, circle the lake, then drop down and swiped a trout from the lake and return to her nest. Most of the fish I caught were Cutt- bows.

Hey there Tincanfsh,
A long time ago(20 something years) I was paid to float in a raft on Red Fish Lake and Stanley Lake for two weeks and do nothing but watch the Ospreys with binoculars and take notes on their activities - It was fantastic !
Hey, I have been looking into Yaks for a while and would sure like to hook up sometime with someone that has one so I could get a better idea and see if my thoughts on the Yak format of fishing would work for me. Would it be possible to tag along some day and observe your fishing from the Yak ? I could bring my own raft or tube or boat or I could fish from the bank while you continue to fish from your craft for the rest of the day - that way your fishing day would not be interupted too much.

Thanks for the report. Thats a great lake little lake to fish. Not the biggest fish but if you hit it just right the catch rate can be through the roof.
