Bummer about the ear . I am hell on my fingers with treble hooks embedded while fish is still in control of lure . I did dig a fly out of my cheek once and wore a rapala almost all day in my ear till my buddy finally help me out after he got done cracking up .
I was hooking up on fish real close to shore today . Chartreuse and white curly tail jigs and some maniacs sticks . I only caught 8 fish today (which I consider slow day) but one was a 8" chub and I can't believe that sucker went for a 3" curly tail .

Sounds like a rough day on the pond. Too bad about your ear. Now you need to make up a real good story, like you were saving a small child from a rabid bobcat or something.

Holly sh** !!!! I have 1 question for all... Why is it that most people get hooked in the ear ?????

I have seen and heard of that too many times.... I feel for ya Bro.

First time I saw it was when I was about 8 and my little brother got hooked in his lobe by a fly fisherman at Vivian park (Provo river) ... At that time I thought he was gonna go deaf and I was cryin a river and prayin to God so he didn't go deaf....blagh blagh blagh.......

I feel your pain my friend.

I have been hooked in the lip by my cousin when we were flyfishing he backcasted and hooked me then proceeded on the forward cast, needless to say he hooked me right in the upper lip. I have also had trebles in my finger when the other end of the lure was still in the fish, both times I had to go to the hospital. I learned one lesson from this, ALWAYS use pliers when taking lures out of a fishes mouth, especially rapalas with 2-3 trebles on them.[Wink]
