Scofield 5/29.

I got out there nice and early yesterday morning with my family. All I have to say is it sucked! One stinking fish all day on that reservoir for myself. My folks got 6 a piece, and my little brother 3. I had to finally walk down from the state park to the river to catch some fish. There I got 13.
I wouldn't recomend this lake for a while now. It was within about 8 feet of the spill way and still rising. That didn't matter. What did was all the debris that were floating in the water. I kept on getting snagged up. On the plus side, I got a hundred crawdads and about three times that many minnows. Although I did loose a minnow trap. It was attatched to 50# braided line that my little brother managed to break off somehow.
If anyone findes a minnow trap in the Mountain View State park along the rocky point into the lake, send me a PM. Thanks.

[cool]Sounds like the fishing was slow, but at least the water is coming up. That's great news, because it was only a month or two ago that they said on the news that Scofield wasn't expected to rise much this year. It's also great news that you nailed the crawdads. Last year at Scofield we couldn't get very many for some reason. Maybe we were just in a crappy spot, but right off the dam has always produced well for us in the past for those mudbugs.

Did anybody else find that the crawdading in Scofield was a little slow last year?

[#505000]I wasn't after them but we managed to nail three crawdads with our casting nets while going after minnows. If I had been using a trap I wonder how I would have done. [/#505000][cool]
