Look up A-Rock propellers in the yellow pages. They have always treated me right.

If your located in Northern Utah you might want to call Dennis McBride at Northshore Water Sports in Hyrum UT. He can fix that prop for you.

[black]First you need to know the factory specifications on the Max RPM of your motor. Once you know this, you can start determining what pitch prop is right for your engine. You probably could get a hold of Lee at Lee's Marine in Hyrum, 435-245-7727, and he could help you determine this. You will need the HP, serial number, and manufacturer of your motor. He also has a wide range of aluminum and SST props for sale, both used and new.[/black]

[black]Your old prop should have the pitch stamped on it. Just because the old prop is, say, a 17 pitch does not mean that prop is right for your boat. I've seen a lot of boats running way under the performance capabilites of the motor because they were pitched too tall. Conversely, You can damage a motor by a prop with too tight a pitch because the motor is over revving during peak operation. This is why it is so important to know the Max RPM spec. You will match the right pitched prop to your motor and the boat. One size absolutely does not fit all.[/black]
[black][/black]
[black]It is a good idea to try a few different pitched props to find the right one. One of the nice things about Lee's set up is that he is two blocks from Hyrum Reservoir and is eager to help you find the right set up. You can "test" out several different props without having to go out and buy one and find out its not the right one. You'll leave with what works for your boat and motor set up. [/black]
[black][/black]
[black]What you'll do when testing for the right prop is put the new prop on and get the boat on plane at full throttle. You'll watch your tach and see what the RPMs are. For example, if your engine is rated at, say, 5500 Max RPM and running a 17 pitch prop and you are only running at 4800 RPM. You'll need to pitch down to a 15 pitch. If you get to 5500 RPM and still got throttle left, you'll need to pitch up and go to a 19 pitch or higher.[/black]
[black][/black]
[black]I don't know your price range but you will get better performance with a stainless steel prop over an aluminum but you'll pay twice the money too. If you're just looking to replace the aluminum prop you still want to get what allows your engine to perform at it's best. Good luck and if you get up to Hyrum and decide to test a few props, let me know and I'll go out with you.[/black]

I just had my prop rebuilt at Marine Prop on Antelope drive in Clearfield their phone number is 801-825-1352. To rebuild it, the cost was $68, he said new props cost $120. Give him a call he can answer any of you questions. Good luck. WH2
