Well i did mostly inshore fishing than offshore. That monster aggravated my tendinitis on my left wrist so i couldnt tangle with the big boys. But they still managed to find me!I mostly fished in the keys with my nephews and samantha. It is barracuda season down there and they are everywhere! We were after snappers and they were plentiful until the cudas came a calling![pirate] When the fish stop btitng a shark or cuda is near.So i decided to set a rig for them just in case. i Decided to have fun with my whooping stick.I used my flueger president reel and it is an awesome reel!We ooked up with several cudas and man was it fun fun.My nephews kept loosing them due to multiple hookups we had and their inexperience. But we did land a brute. It took teamwork because i cant put pressure on my wrist so they took turns and we finally brought one to shore. It put up a good fight and made my nephews day.

so did you manage to land any snapper, grouper, or other exotic fish that you were talking about?
Thats a nice cuda, it sucks about your hand, were you using the silver thread line when you landed the cuda?

Yeah i was using my whooping stick and flueger president reel and excalibur silver thread 8lb.Man i cant beleive how strong that silver thread is!That particular cuda was around the 20 lb range. One thing about cudas is that they are a solid fish. All muscle and speed. My nephews put a lot more pressure on it than i would have.Had to change all my lines though they got frayed pretty bad and the salt water and sun really deteriorate lines quickly there.Gonna have to get some more from cabelas but gonna swith to 6lb and 4lb test.
