East canyon/echo report
#1
Got to East Canyon this "morning" with my son. We fished around the "taylor hollow" area. I caught a 12" smallmouth right off the bat, but no other luck than that. We tried a few different things and nothign worked for us. There we some guys not too far from us that caught one on powerbait, and a family across from us catching something on some unknown bait.

After about an hour we decided to head to Echo. We fished at the first turnout from the dam with no luck. I decided to head uplake trying to find some warmer water, and we found some shallows with some carp jumping. Our efforts were rewarded with one carp(catfish bait), and my boy hooked into something rather small that got off, but looked like a smallmouth. The wind played a factor, and we headed home late afternoon.

Shore fishing seems a little tough this year with the steep banks and shoreline vegetation.
