[cool]Finally got out offshore Tuesday, after a wet, cold, rough weekend. It was still pretty rough early Tuesday, and action at the Bonita artificial reefs was slow--all catch & release gag grouper and snapper, fishing with thr Dave Carr party. Wednesday, we fished 8 miles off Doc's Beach House with the Clark Barnett party. Using live shrimp and small grunts for bait, we got a 26 inch gag grouper, a 14 inch yellowtail snapper, keeper mangrove snapper, and lots of triggerfish. Fishing Thursday in 35 feet, over hard bottom off Bonita Beach, with the Dick Leonard party, we caught a 31 inch gag grouper, a 37 inch cobia, keeper mangrove snapper to 13 inches, Spanish mackerel to 26 inches, triggerfish & grunts. We braved some rough seas Friday with the Irv Shoemaker party, again 8 miles off Doc's Beach House, where we caught keeper sheepshead, mangrove snapper to 16 inches, big triggerfish & porkfish.
