I went down to San Clemente with my wife and her family last week. On Thursday my Bro in Law and Father in law did a3/4 day trip leaving from Dana Point. The boat was a 95 footer and had about 40 fishermen and 1 fisherwoman,
When we got to the 1st spot everyone caught sand and calico bass for about an hour. My FIL hooked into a 25.5 Halibut that was the biuggest fish (and tastiest) catch of the day.
I hooked into the first baracuda of the day at our next spot.
After moving around afew times the last stop of the day was on top of an amazing barracuda boil. I have never seen anything like it. For one hour there was at least 2-3 of them being reeled. Everyone caught anywhere from 5-15 of these fiesty fish. I will attempt to attach some pics too.
