Quail Creek or Sand Hallow

I live in Las Vegas and driving up on wednesday to see my girl and to take her fishing. I don't know what lake to choose from and what to use, I really don't want to look like an idiot so I thought the guys from BFT would now what to do. If you have any suggestions that would help out. Thanks.
