kokane questions
#1
I will be at Flameing george this weekend trying for some kokes, not the first time, but I never catch any, even when evarybody elce is. I've got some stuf that was working last year, for some people. Flashers, sling blades, koke killers, wedding rings, pixies,
I was wondering if there is anything new that is working better this year I just want to look at some of them mabie chew on a couple, I don't fish for the freezer. How far behind the downrigger? how fast? deep? I'd like to know how to jig for kokes too. Kind of jig? Any legal means, thanks.

for jigging, find the fish and fish the individual fish. requires good graph and knowing how to use it. I use kastmasters, drop them down to the fish and you can watch them go after it , allot of times they will hit on the fall so be ready! way more fun than dragging stuff around all day and I believe more effective when you find the fish.

[cool]Ramp_tramp, you should send a pm to sockeyeslayer. He seems to be the resident kokanee expert on the board. Also, try out this website: www.shastatackle.com and click on "new products" and "tried and true." Also, as a new member you may not know that there is an excellent search feature at the top of EVERY page on BFT and you can do your own search there and do a ton of research. Just type in "kokanee", Flaming Gorge Kokes, etc. and you'll find a wealth of info from past reports from the Gorge. Good luck.
