Hi all,
I don't post much, but generally read everything and decided to post the results of my latest trip to the Gorge. Sockeyeslayer recommended we try Buckboard - we usually just run Lucerne, but decided to give it a go. The water around Buckboard was really turning - a lot of algae in the water, and I think it affected the fishing. We fished the Big Bend cliffs and spotted a lot of fish, but couldn't get any in the boat. We ran Koke-a-nuts and criplures behind sling blades. The next morning we packed up and headed for Lucerne. The water around Swim Beach and Pipeline was considerably better, and we landed a couple of nice Kokes around 3 1/2 lb each. It was still quite slow. We also fished the sheepcreek area and got one small mack and no Kokanee. Oh yeah, lots of small rainbows as they had just stocked. Threw them all back.
Met sockeyeslayer at the ramp. Always enjoy putting a face with a sig - thanks!
