for splake i have found jigging is best..that is if you have a boat or tube.. i like tube jig's in white or trout colors.. for trolling you can pull must all the standerd bait even yucky old popgear.. flatfish, rapales, and alot of other thing work for trolling.. for bait fishing i would try minnows, a chunk of chub meat, worms and power bait will work as well..you will find the bigger fish will hitt the minnows and chub meat and the worm and power bait get more of the smaller ones..

I'll second what the fuzz had to say. Pretty much any trout tackle will work well. I've never been to Moon lake, so I hope you guys have a good time.

Due to their lake trout genes, splake are meat eaters. Whatever you use (jig, kastmaster, etc.) tip it with a little piece of sucker meat or perch. That should attract the splake.

ive found that replacing the worms on a pop geer combo with sucker meat works great for trolling. generally the smaller ones do take the worms. also still fishing chunks of suckers and chubs sunk to the bottom works good. you also might want to troll a small shiner or chub behind a flasher/dodger. that works well at times. (also a tube jig behing a flasher- small flashers)
good luck!
