first fishing trip to Powell
#1
I am heading down to Panguitch this thursday to meet up with some friends. They are going to take us from there to lake Powell. All they have are a few Jet-ski's and no boat. I was wondering if you can fish Powell off a float tube and have any luck. What areas are great fishing, and what would be the best to use for fish bait. Any and all info would be helpful. Will be there fri-sat.

Thanks,

I've float tubed Powell. I fished the Stanton Creek area and did OK on Wallies, Smallies, etc.. using twister tail crubs or Roadrunners.

I was there 2 weeks ago and saw a few guys tubing.. (bullfrog bay)..I think you would be able to do well around the docks and any rock structure close to shore.Just watch out for the wind it can come up fast .Use crankbaits, grubs, and other bass jigs and you should do fine! I saw some reallty nice bluegills (12") but didnt have any small jigs with me. Check out wayneswords.com for recent fishing reports..Have fun!
