Willard was boiling hot this morning
#1
Got on the bay around 9:30 and trolled from the N marina to the area N of the feedlot. Got into a major boil at about 10:30 and caught wipers one right after another for about an hour until the wind picked up and blew me off the lake.

Caught the first one trolling a #4 jointed shad rap in a shad color black back silver body. When I saw the boils I started casting and it was "FISH ON" constantly. Caught about a dozen and released them all hoping they will grow up to be like the one caught down in Kansas in that other thread. What a hoot! No walleye however [unsure].

I hope the boils will really get going again like they did a couple weeks ago.

How late in the fall do the wipers and walleye stay active in Willard?

[black]I've heard that the shad that the wipers chase go in cycles (size cycles). I don't know how true it is but the guy that was telling me said they go in about 2-week cycles. Every two weeks a new batch of shad the right size emerge. It's been about two weeks since the last good boils so maybe we are in for a week of "hoot".[/black]

[black]I predict that with the low/changing barometric pressure being replaced with smooth high pressure and the full moon getting smaller, I think we will start seeing more Willard reports like yours.[/black]
