Flaming Gorge update Thur-Sat
#1
We had a good trip and the Kokanee fishing was pretty good...as was stated on the other flaming gorge post by Mackminer and other's the old "W" came up alot more then we would have liked but we fished when we could and landed about 33 fish in the two day's not bad for trolling this time of year...I saw some guy's doing well jigging but it's tough to keep my big boat over the fish without a bow mount trolling motor so trolling was the name of the game for us. I will be heading back up there the last weekend of the month for the final push before they close the fishing of kokanee on October 1st so we will see how it goes. Also great report Mackminer I still have alot to learn from you and ash.

Jared, Sounds like you had a good time. It's great just to get out of the city. Have you ever tried apex lures (1.5") ? If so, how did they work ? It seems we have are best results using apex's (orange, pink & red). It would be nice to see some pictures of the Lake, your Boat & some senery. Thanks for the post. Travis..........

I have been widely heard saying that Apex's/or pro-troll's e-chip kokanee killer (basically the same thing) are great for kokanee the only other non Shasta Tackle bait I use is the Tasmanian devil's that like the Apex' also produce fairly well. The color's you are using are exactly right. As far as picture's go we only took 5 total photo's of the Kokanee and they are on a friend's digital camera so I will try and track them down and add them.
