Friday:
Fished Porcupine from the toon on Friday. Wind blew but not too bad. Caught the prettiest 2 pound brown I've seen in years. It had very dark colors with brown on the side and a black belly. Caught what might have been a rainbow/cutthroat hybrid (rainbow colors with the orange under the gills) that was just a pig. Must have been 4 or 5 pounds. Also caught another 2 pound cutt, a 2 pound rainbow, and three 6 inchers. Just kept the big cutt. It was loaded with eggs so maybe should have thrown it back. It also had lots of little one inch minnows in its belly. We could see these minnows in the millions all around the shore. Does anybody know what those minows are? they look like a guppy except they are longer and thiner and have a forked tail.
Saturday:
Fished the Pine for a few hours (3-6PM) . Planned to drive around to Browning point but a major traffic accident at the Eden intersection had traffic stopped and backed up all the way to the private boat dock turn off. If anyone knows more about the traffic accident please reply. there were tons of cop cars, ambulances and fire trucks.
Anyway I turned around a went back to where you can walk down to the water across from the house that's near the dam. I caught a bunch of hand-sized bluegill there on the smallest jig head I could find fitted with a tiny piece of crawler. Caught a couple 4-inch perch also. Was hoping some crappie would come in but no such luck. Fished with a second pole casting out a big spinner looking for a muskie but didn't have any hits. Light rain and almost no wind.
