Found this read pretty interesting. Didn't say where in Utah, but I'm guessing Eastern (Uintahs probably?). I hope this bastard gets what he deserves...

[black]That begs the question: ..... Why would the DWR knowingly plant fish from an infected hatchery? I say "knowingly" because 72 times fish were planted from the hatchery during the same years that the hatchery had been tested positive for the disease. Hummmmm[/black]

Fish were released in at least 72 locations in rivers and streams in La Plata, Archuleta, Montezuma and Dolores counties, Lewandowski said. He was paid by private landowners.

The DWR didn't knowingly plant fish infected with whirling disease. The fish were planted by private pond owners, not by the state. Utah doesn't allow the stocking of infected fish. They destroyed 900,000 or so at the Springville hatchery this spring because they were infected with whirling disease. You might notice that the 72 locations mentioned were not in Utah, unless there are counties that I don't know about.

[#ff4040]Hey I wonder if UTC knows why all his little precious fishies have diseases more than other fish. I think he ate too many of those "rabid" fish, that's why he's like that.[/#ff4040]

He got a $30,000 fine. On par what former Gov. Levitt recieved. Opps he conviently sold his share of the family fish farm to family members. Then fired the two DWR officers investigating his fish farm. All told the Levitt fish farm infected at least 4 Utah water ways.

[cool]I'm going to take my chances in the "chance of rain" this Saturday at Lincoln. Depending on how much wind will determine if I'll be wading out from shore or tubing it, but I now have some things I've gotta do in the a.m., so I'm looking at getting there at around 1:30 or 2-ish. Hope the afternoon storm gets those 'eyes to crash the shorelines looking for Confused and disoriented baitfish. Wanna join me?
