Having only caught one tarpon, I need some help... what's the best bait - natural and artificial?

I'm not shure what part of the US you're in, but here in SC a large Row Mullet works great. We don't have flats or nothing like Florida does, but there are lots of shallow sandbars close off to the shore. We'll float a large mullet over that sand bar when Tarpon are in the area, and have great success. You can catch mullet in your trusty cast net all season long here, however, your fishing conditions and variables may differ considerably in your location.
