Hashbaz and I met at Mantua and were on the water around 8:30. I was surprised to not see any other boats there. I was also happy that the sea weeds were not as bad as my last trip there. We trolled around the north side of the hill and each picked up a LMB with a perch pattern rapala. We headed out across the lake toward the dam and saw lots of fish on the finder, but no takers. We cruised to the inlet to check it for bluegill, but didn't see much there. Then the wind came up and we could see a storm front coming up the canyon. We headed to the launch, but it started to rain hard about half way there. We got ourselves quite wet before we had the boat back on the trailer at 10:30. A DWR officer was there to do a creel survey and asked us questions about our fishing preferences and if we wanted them to keep trout in Mantua, or not. We only saw two other fishermen up on the east end, so he was probably lonely if he sat there the whole day waiting for the storm to pass and someone else to come fishing. At least we didn't get skunked. Acey
