Highland Lakes (Buchanan & LBJ) Guide Report
#1
Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 64 degrees; 1013.80' (7' low)
Bass are setting up on ambush spots inside of secondary points around cover on breaklines of flats. Most productive areas have been above Beaver Creek to Mud Island/Cedar Point. As water cools and more shad move out of channels expect to see the creeks produce, especially when we get some respectable rain and the creeks have a flow.

Largemouth are very good to 5+ lbs. under cloud cover in 2'- 4' along laydowns and fence rows in pockets from Beaver Creek to Mud Island/Cedar Point using a blue shad Terminator, 1/4 oz. Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps and pitching 6" Texas rigged green-pumpkin Scoundrel Worms and a Super Tube Heavy.

Stripers are fair below Shaw Island in 20'-40' drifting live bait, jigging Spoiler Shads and 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows.
White Bass are slow on mainlake points.

Crappie are fair over brushpiles in 12'-15' on minnows.
