I am going to hit Pineview on my tube in the morning. Any last minute suggestions as to depth to fish for crappie or area of the reservoir to try? I thought that I would start on the North side by the island.
Should I fish shallow with a bobber or go to the bottom with ice techniques?
Any one else going to be up there tomorrow?

[#ff4040]I haven't been to pineview for years so I wouldn't know where to look. Just wanted to say good luck on your quest for the papermouths at the view. I have been finding them at the pumphouses in Saratoga, so if you need a second place look there.[/#ff4040]

This time of year it can be tough. I don't know what the water temp is up ther right now, but it must be getting cold. I would find a rocky point, and jig.... 25-30 feet or so. Try small plastics. You may want to try for some smallies, but you will need to go deeper than that. Good luck and let us know how ya did!

[#ff4040]In the years past I used to do real well using little plastic grubs that were black with a chartreuse tail. I used to also use green little ratso jigs. You should try those if you use anything under a bobber.[/#ff4040]

Well, I fished for 3 hours and all I got was a skunk!
Not even a nibble. I fished on the North West side and fished from the shore to the middle of the reservoir. I didn't take my fish finder because I had to walk in quite a distance and didn't want to haul any extra weight.
I fished the general area that produced very well for perch 3 winters ago.
I guess that I will just have to wait for Rockport ice to get my perch dinner.
