Next Sat, I will be taking my Bro-in-law, and 2 nieces for they're first Ice fishing excursion. For my two nieces it will be they're first fishing trip ever. I am thinking of Rockport because of the fast action for the perchies. I really would appreciate any fishing info I can get for Rockport since I have never ice fished there. Also, has anyone been to echo? I have always been successful at echo, but the last 2 years the fishing in the " Secret Spot" has been slow.
Thanks for info! Clint...AKA Garbageman

A fishfinder will help a bunch if you know how to make it work for you on finding perch . I been doing it with a Fishing Buddy II fishfinder but christmas has giving me a flasher to do it with now . Fish will be shallow first light and move deeper as the sun comes up . 45' is where I did best out from west side close to the Rocky point . If it is stormy out I have found them shallower like 22' . But you will do better in the deeper water . Park at the second restroom pull off on the westside and work your way north looking for them on the fishfinder . Place was crowded last saturday .

Ditto what HA said. And be prepared to sing backup to the ice. Saturday it was howling.
