I got a late start due to the weather and other tasks, so I didn't get onto the ice until 10:30. I parked at the 2nd outhouse. The first several holes yielded no perch, although I picked up two porky 17 inch rainbows. I was moving around quite a bit and finally I found some perch. It wasn't fast, and a few would come and go. I started out using either crawler pieces or perch eyes, but a fellow angler I was fishing with was having a little better luck with mealworms. I switched over and found they markedly preferred them . Ended up with a nice batch of perch, but not quite a limit. Not bad for missing the morning bite. Left at 4 PM. The ice was 6 inches and solid, slush was negligible except along the shoreline, and conditions were nice once the storm blew over. The snow made the ice easy to walk on.
On the way back, I went the long way home and stopped by Rock Cliffs to see what the conditions were like. There is some ice there, and some intrepid anglers have tried it, but there isn't a very large area that is frozen. It probably needs a little more cold weather to really be able to fish it well. I was alone anyway, and didn't want to chance it. I took a couple of pics.
