I will be taking my nine-year old grandson to Lost Creek Reservoir on this coming Saturday the 15th. Room in the Suburban, for one adult and a child, or just one adult. Anyone interested in joining us, please send me a PM.

I tried to find Lost Creek last week but couldn't. Imagine that , not finding Lost Creek.

I have better directions and have consulted a map at Terraserver.com. I will try again this Sat. I'll call out on channel 12.
Thanks for the offer of a ride but with my 6 yr old it would be best for me to remain flexible about getting there and leaving.

Troll, when you first get on the ice, look away from the dam. I think that it is to the East. As you start to walk out, there is a cove on the left side. We fished just past the cove in about 25' of water last Saturday and did real good. We started over more to the center in 65' of water and only ices a few but when we moved closer to shore, the action really picked up. The best jig was a glow white whatta cricket, tiped with meal worm. Pop the head off and let the juces flow for best results. Most Cutthroat were on the bottom. Some of us used a finder and others didn't with the same success as long as we were on the bottom. A few Bows will swim by at mid water once in a while. Good luch and have a great day up there.

How thick was the ice? I know it is plenty safe, just hoping to not have to drag my power auger back up that hill.

I didn't measure but I will guess under 6". The hand auger should do just fine. The hill wasn't all that bad with a sled. There is a flat rest area half way back up and footing was OK. If we get the 2' to 3' of snow predicted for Wed., all bets are off.

DKS, how was the parking area? Coould you tell if they have been plowing it? When I was there last (pre-ice) they had done a very lousy job of plowing and if they keep up the same routine, after this weeks storms it will be a mess like in the years past. I may be up there Sat. am also.

Take the Croydon exit, just past devil's slide. Go over the bridge, and once you get past the cement plant there'll be a turnoff to the left. I believe it's marked. After that you'll have to make one more left turn, and then you just follow that road up to the dam.

When we were there on Saturday, the parking lot was great. I don't know who plows up there but they had it in great shape when we were there.

How about the road over the dam, back to the boat ramp?

Mateo, When I last talked to a morgan county sheriff about the plowing and such they said that they were intending on blocking off the road across the dam with the snowplows. They said there were too many problems with guys getting stuck back there so they didn't want anyone in there. But if there isn't enough snow to make a big bank you could get through with a little try and some speed.
