I hit Currant Creek yesterday with the kids and in-laws. We showed up at about 1 pm. Parking Lot was a little crowded, but only about 20 people on the ice. I think every single person drove their own truck!
Ice Conditions: Good ice now covers the entire lake. 10+ inches with a little snow on top, no slush yet.
Fishing: Slow. We usually rip them all day long, but had troubles keeping up the action. We were fishing in 50 ft of water, picking them right off the bottom. Talk to a few others who found them suspended at 20-25 in the same depth range. Fish size was down a bit too from years past. Most of the fish were 10-12 inches.
On the way up there, I was amazed how "uncrowded" the Berry was. Granted is was around 12-1 pm, but still, the parking lots and lake weren't that crowded. Unusual for the Berry on a Saturday. New regs starting to effect it??
