Glen L. Evans Shyster Advertising Matchbook
#1
I have an old oversized "matchbook" advertising piece from the days when Evans was in Caldwell, Idaho. Has two silver Shyster blades attached to the outside cover stamped, "Shyster" 1/3 oz., G.L.E., Caldwell, Idaho". Wondering if anyone can help me date it? One sold on ebay a year or so ago but no information as to history or price remains in the database. It was apparently collectible since it had numerous bids. Searches for this tackle company during their Caldwell days hasn't given up much information. Anyone know when they were in Caldwell or any other information on this matchbook?
The only thing I have is that it is pre-zip code and the term "jobbers" was popular from the 30's thru the 50's. I fished yellow Shyster's in the late 50's and early 60's for bass. I think Luhr-Jensen bought them at some point? Burton in Boise.
