Deer Creek Ice Fishin

The past week my cousin and I have been driving up to Heaber to do a job and I have seen lots of Icer's out.... I haven't dared to go onto the ice but I was just wondering if any of you have ventured out there...
Seems to be a ton of people out there and I was just wondering if the fishing is good or not?

My son and I went to the Wallsberge bay area on Saturday. The Ice was around 10 inches, and the fishing wasn't too bad. Rainbows coming by all day, some would bite and some wouldn't. We caught 4 perch up to 10 inches and only landed 1 trout, but had three others come off (mostly because my 5 year old has a hard time keeping the line tight), but two of the rainbows we lost were pretty big, one right at the hole. Saw some others catch some chunky rainbows around 18 inches.

Fished Wallsburg bay yesterday with good results. Rainbows are fat and sassy. All caught on Chartruse Boogers tipped with mealworm. Ice is about 9 inches thick with water on top. Edges were still good yesterday. See attachment.
