Northwest Oregon Fishing on the Nestucca River
#1
The Nestucca fished well over the last week. We had mixed results over the week, with slower days during the hard freeze. The weather warmed, productivity was up, and the fish were more active. There are a bunch of boats in the water, and action is coming from jigs and drifting bait. Look for a good push of fish over the next couple of weeks with the peak of the season. We also have warmer weather and rain in the forecast. Fish will be spread through the entire river and will respond well to all tactics as soon as the river colors and raises a little. Drifting bait with beads or puff balls is what we do here, and jigs will produce too. “Go To” colors are green, pink, and peach.
