O.K., We did the freshwater, now lets here your first saltwater fish story (if your not so old like me that you can't remember).

I remeber fishin off the dock of the harbor and caught a mackerel. I didn't want to touch it because I didn't know what it was..if it was piosonious or something....hehe I just got to laugh at myself now.

Hi there theangler,

I believe it was an anchovie. First few got away before I got the hang of it! Bunch of old guys were using hand nets that looked older than them... can you believe it!?

My first saltwater fish ever was a little pinfish. I had to call my parents to ask, but that's what they said it was. [sly]

I'm pretty sure it was a fluke with grandpa off the RI coast. Wish I could find the picture because the fluke back then where as big as I was.[Smile][Smile]

When I was 3 or 4, my father was a commerical fisherman. He fishied out of Hillsboro Inlet, Pompano Beach, FL. I caught a Bonita for my first saltwater fish. I can remember how much my arms hurt after we got it up to the boat.

Jacksmelt. Caught 3 of 'em about 12" off Manhattan Pier round '67 or so.

Yes, I fish around there all the time. Fishing has been good, bluefish, pompano and the macks are still here. There are still cobia moving through, life is good.
