Cant believe what i saw Friday
#1
[red]As i posted eariler this weekend I went to Bountiful pond friday morning after work . Something that i saw out there still bothers me a great deal. I thought i would share it with you all. It has taken me this long to do so. After having been there for a few hours i would say around 11:00 a.m. a very young lady in her early 20"s showed up with 2 young kids a boy what looked like to be 2 at least and a young girl i would say around 10 neither wore shoes. or coats. I thought to be odd and the way the wind was blowing there was a bit of a chill in the air. As i kept an eye on my pole i also watched the 2 kids play as we all did that fished that day. Then this mother pulls out of her car a very and i mean very small blow up raft. I thinking your not going to let that girl get in that as bad as the wind is . No she put them both in there as well as her self this raft was really only ment to hold maybe at best 2 very small kids let a lone a grown-up . And the kicker to the story they had no oars at all . Now i;am think oh no this is not good at all I started untying my boots and reeled in my pole and took my camera from around my neck . The little boy was the only wearing any kind of vest. and he was screaming at the top of his little lungs you could tell he was very afarid. What the hell was this mother thinking? Or was she at all? But off they went only to be blown silly and the mother falling out. What if no one had been there? Last year this pond claimed the life of an older man. I would hate to think what could have happened. This kinda thing makes me wonder about the safety of some kids. [/red]

[cool][#0000ff]That is scary. As bad as it was, it could have been worse. I am continually amazed at the lack of common sense among the human species.[/#0000ff]

People like that need to be shot!!! Personally i would have cussed her out and told her if she went out i would report her for endangering her kids lives. But thats just me i can be very outspoken when i see stupidity like that and kids are involved.

Wow, another chapter in my book, "People are Stupid". On the other hand behavior like that makes me feel like the dad of the year.

I like to say "Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups" but now I am going to have to think of something for that one particular individual. I'm 27 years old and I would have been kicking and screaming just like the boy, atleast HE has some common sense.

I'm in favor of everyone having to pass a written and oral test in order to obtain a "licence to breed"![Wink]

I'd sure like to praise you for your attentiveness and foresite to prevent loss of life when someone is doing a very strange thing in putting not only their own lives in danger but the lives of two children.

Did anyone question the young "lady" after the incident? No shoes or coats? Do you think it was a planned situation?

You know as i sat there i couldn't help but think back to other storys that we hear about things that happen to children and the parent is to blame. I tell you if you would have seen this raft or toy raft you would think something else is going on here. and its just fortunate for the kidos that the wind blew them in the direction that it did. Had the wind blew them to the middle of the lake no telling what would have taken place in that event. As windy as it was i wouldn't have even put my toon on the water that day. but to this day that still is bedded in my mind. I'll never forget the look on that little boys face and the scream in his voice. He had actually came and stood next to me while his mom (and i use that term in the loosest of terms) was blowing up this raft or toy. It was just a bad sight to be a witness to but glad i was there just in case.
