Have you made it to Lincoln beach lately? If so are the three springs open or covered with water. They are west of boat launch area. I learned to love fishing as a kid fishing in them. I haven't been to lincoln beach in forty years, I will appreciate all the help you can give me. I hate to drive down there from West Valley and not be able to see them.

[cool][#0000ff]All of the main springs are several feet under water and are not much of a factor in holding fish these days. There is no difference in clarity or temperature even directly over the springs. That means they do not do much to concentrate the fish.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Also, with the current water level, there are few places to fish from shore around Lincoln Beach. The dikes in each side of the boat channel are probably the easiest for most people to access. Fishing has been slow but is picking up. Quite a few mud cats, some white bass and a few channel cats are showing up for the "bank tanglers" now. I have even heard of a few walleyes starting to bite on corky rigs with minnows.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]With the current high water conditions, you will usually do better with a boat, tube or toon, to get you to the better spots and away from the shore fishing activity areas. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Those who like to wade can also find some good fishing either off the rock shelves out from the orchards or even wading along the edges of the shoreline reeds and brush. You would be surprised how shallow some of the fish come in while the water is warming this time of year. You can fish plastics, spinners or other artificials in the open water, or hang bait below a bobber back in the holes in the vegetation. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]This current warm spell is going to work wonders for the fishing reports over the next couple of weeks.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Here are a couple of pics from the past, when the springs were not covered with so much water. One is a fall pic, the other a tubing trip when there was snow on the ground. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]There is now about six to eight feet of water over the spot where the trucks are parked and the waters' edge is clear up into the brush.[/#0000ff]
