Well, since it was such a nice day and I didn't really want to deal with the crowds at any of the planter ponds, I decided to try the Jordan, even though it's so dang high.
Started at 60th, or so. Started off with a Blue fox, just casting it for the heck of it before I changed to a bait rig up. I didn't figure I'd even have any bites. Untill about my 10th cast. Something slamed it, and kept on running. The 4# line on my new ultra light just couldn't handle the stress in all that current. I saw one glimpse of that big fat rainbow before he snapped the line. [
] Dang line! I ran up to the truck and grabbed a bigger setup, and started tossing lures again. Nothin. Finally switched to worms on the bottom in the slack water. Nothin.
So I figured what the heck, I'll run down by my house at 27th and see what's up. The decker canal was just slightly backed up by the Jordan's high water, and it looked really good. I started tossing gitzits tiped with a little bit of crawler, hoping for a walleye or maybe a whitie or two. Had a couple of twitches on the other end, but that's it.
Not too impressive of a catching day to say the least. But atleast it was great to get out on the water and enjoy the beautiful weather before it's gone again.
