Granita Park Utah???

Anybody ever heard of this place Granita Park Utah?? Was watching Roland Martin and that is where he was in Northern Utah? Thanks

It's out in the vernal area. I've never been there personally, but have read an article about it. Here's a link.

I have been there a couple of times with youth groups. It is a few miles north of Duchesne. It is a little difficult to find. Any of the Duchesne old timers could tell you how to get there. Several lakes connected by irrigation canals. I believe all ponds are man made. I fished a little bit and caught a few large mouths. At one time the ponds were stocked regularly. Mr. Hansen is pretty old and I am not sure if anyone manages the place anymore. They still farm around the ponds. Kind of a neet place. If I were out to Starvation I might drop by.

My good freind is 1/2 owner of granita park. The bass fishing is excellant(catch and release only) some trophy hogs to be had. All lakes and ponds are privately owned (ranch was purchased about 5 yrs ago from the old owner) And you can only them for a fee. They sell yearly,monthly or one day passes I believe. If your interested P.M. me and I will give you his ph. # I would'nt however try sneaking on. Hefty fines and full prosicution of the law would be the result. Lonnie

I used to go out there all the time. I grew up out there. It is in arcadia utah and there are definitely some huge bass out there. My whole family have been good friends with the hansens (Guy Hansen who is Grant Hansen's (the former owner) son.) We used to go out there and swim and fish and check out the cool animals Grant used to keep there. After it changed ownership it became pretty closed off to everyone, but those part of the groups affiliated with the new owner. I guess that is just the nature of the change in ownership. Anyway I havn't been out there for a while now, but it used to be a really fun place. I am sure it is still pretty nice and I am sure there are some huge bass out there. I used to work for mosquito abatement and granita park was in my area So I drove around the ponds a lot. And saw a lot of huge bass. Anyway this is turning into a novel so I will stop,

I've been out there a few times in the last couple years, it's a real neat place. Real quiet and secluded but only because it's private property if it were public...well, you know it would be trashed.
