Dodgers and Flashers for macs at the Gorge
#1
I recently got my first real fishing boat a 19' crestliner and am anxious to get her up to the gorge to fish for the macs.

I have received some very good informatoin on jigging for the macs (thanks donindenver) I have gathered some good information on trolling for them, but am seeking additional information on specific set ups.

Do you have preferred dodgers or flasherss, size, color, manufacturer.

I do not fully understand the difference between a flasher and a dodger?

Do you all fish squid behind them?

Advice and reccomendations are greatly appreciated

As far as I know a dodger and a flasher is one in the same.

A size 0 Chrome or chrome prism luhr Jensen Dodger in front of a Plastic squid or chub minnow will do well at the Gorge.

i think the difference between a dodger and a flasher is that a dodger is designed to rock back and forth- if it is spinning in a complete circle you are going too fast. a flasher is designed to spin in a whole circle and you need to increase the lead to give it more room to work. i used to have a link that described these differnces in more detail. i'll see if i can find it for you.(although im not sure knowing the technical differences will catch you many more fish!)

in the mean time here is a link that has a few good articles on fishing the gorge.
