Fishing from the shore can be difficult. I would try the south end at the ramp, small jig tipped with a worm under a bobber. Oh! and don't wade in the water, evil little parasites that make you itch and probably worse. I don't know much about the green except the bats at night will take wooley buggers without hesitation...

The green arround vernal area will be very high and muddy right now and not a good bet. However about 3-4 miles before and just off the ouray hyway to pelican is a lake called Brough I beleive. I've done well for small mouth and some nice trout there in the past. They did poison it 3or 4 years back though. I've heard good things about the trout, but I'm not sure if they restocked the small mouth. As mentioned before pelican is a rough bet from sure due to very shallow and weedy water, but brough has some good bank fishing.
Good Luck Lonnie

the green river this time of year can be productive near vernal for the whiskered freinds... i stayed at little mountain camp ground for easter last year and slaughtered the cats... my mom caught a pike there on a chub as well so watch out for them toothy critters...lol

Hey Fish_in_ Utah,
Pelican is tough to fish from shore but it can be done. If you have waders and a float tube you could work the outside of the reeds for bass and bluegills. I'm not sure if the bass or bluegills will be on the beds yet. I think that water might still be a little cool.
Brough is a good place to fish from shore. Its a artificial fly and lure body of water. It has rainbows and some large Browns. Use spinners and fly and bubble combo might work. Theres no bass or shouldn't be. Take highway 88 south from US 40 turn west on the second dirt road pastthe power lines follow thr roadn staying left at each fork. the road might be a litle rough for a car but a truck should be OK.
There's also Bullock and Cottonwood. they are on the way to Pelican just before Gusher. Cottonwood has been planted with smallies and Tigers musky. Both speices will be too small to catch right now. Bullock has catfish, bluegills, rainbows, smallies and Tiger musky. Its small but you can fish must of it from shore.
If you go in to vernal there's Steinaker and Red Fleet.
