Slushless at the Berry
#1
I went out to the Berry and had a great day at Chicken Creek East. No slush problems and plenty of fish. iced one 23 incher and lost another one that was probably about 22 (guessing by the way he refused to come through the hole). In a little under four hours we iced 16.

Awsome day.

Sounds like a great time! I'd be willing to wager that after the upcoming warm spell, it'll be lights out till ice off though. Thanks for sharing the report.

I'll bet a Luckycraft on it that it wont be ice free until after Mothers day . Deal or No deal . [Wink] My luck it will come on the 20th of May and I will have to miss the wiper derby .

Wow, thanks for the report. I must admit that I am suprised that there was no slush. What were the edges like? Maybe that last ice trip to the Berry might take place after all. (Hmmm, off tomorrow morning??)

The edges were great. We were expecting some slush, we walked out in waders but seriously when we walked off at noon I broke through the top layer of ice once and sunk 4 inches to the next layer. The 4 inches were snow not slush. I am going to keep checking the reports and hope that I can get out next Sat when my dad comes up.

Thanks for the report. How much snow is still on the ground up there?

If you mean on the road then the answer is none. Even the parking lot was snow less. we carried the sled 75 feet before we got to the snow. I drove my camry and she did fine. On the Reservoir there is an inch or two above the ice but I expect that willo melt in the next day or so.

Normally, what is the first part of Strawberry to lose its ice?
