My friend just found out that he has luekemia and his dream has always been to fish for salmon in Alaska. We are going to take him to Kodiak Island for halibut, silvers and maybe some kings still in the bays on August 19th.
I know alot of BFT'ers out there have been to Alaska. Does anyone have a charter captain they just love or any suggestions on river fishing in the "road zone" of Kodiak?
Thanks for the help

No info on captains, but tell your friend good luck and all the best! Fish like there is no tomorrow!

I'm sorry that I dunno squat about charters up there. I do wish all of you that are going & especially your friend the trip of a lifetime, good weather, calm seas & fish until your arms can't take any more. Then I hope you catch a whole bunch more.
God bless,

One I know of is The Happy Hooker. The road system doesn't require a guide as long as you know a little about Salmon fishing. The Chums and Pinks should be in the rivers then.
