Well, i was wondering if the weather would ever let up enough to drag my lil torturecraft out this weekend, and today seemed the best bet. After trolling past the feedlot and out towards the island i finally got rid of my willard skunk, first one of the season, and at a 20incher i was quite happy. The wife and boys had a good time out on the water even though that was the fish today. [inline Willard5_29.jpg][inline DSC06410.JPG]

We got out today as well. What a great day on the water. I guess we did a little better on the fish. We trolled tight to the North dike in 12-15' of water with small shad raps and jointed shad raps. Boated 11 wipers and a small smb, and had a few more wipers get off near the boat. Speed was about 3 mph and water temp 65. Not many people there in the morning, but when we left at 1:00 it was starting to get a little busy.

I was out yesterday also, I fished from 0830 to 1300, I caught some really nice size wipers one my son caught was 21". Glad my weekend wasn't totally skunked. There sure were alot of people trying to get on the water when I was gettin out. Saw Smalls and told him what I got my wipers on and he said he caught quite a few. I was in 10.6ft to 14' of water out of the south marina.

We were in our boat,a"Crestliner", I had an American Flag flying off my left stern, didn't fly the BFT Banner yesterday. We tried to find some Cats earlier in the morning but to no avail. I hadn't fished for them in quite a few years, but we do enjoy eating them. I quess I'll have to pick Lunkerhunter's brain for some info on how to catch them. I'm sure we probably passed each other somewhere on the water, but I don't know what your boat looks like. I tried some of the Producers prior to and during the tournament, (Kevin loaned me a couple) but we didn't have any luck on them. Probably wasn't holding my mouth right.

I went out yesterday as well. It was a great day to be on the water, no bugs and the Wipers were hungry. I was casting at the shore with Maniac minnows and pointers. I'm not to sure how many I caught I stopped counting at 15. But all the fish were nice fish, they ranged between the 18 and 20 inch range. The frenzy died off at 9:30 and then I had to troll. I did end up catching a couple trolling around the Island. I didn't stay to long though I only fished from 7:00 am to 10:30 am. You got to get off the water before the skiers come out.
