I know this is not the Wyoming page, but hardly anybody seems to visit the Wyoming page, and I think Utah has the most folks chatting on BFT, so I am asking the best of the best. Has anyone fished these lakes this year or in the past from Shore. They are all on the South west end or slopes of the Wind River Mountain Range, it is near Gillette Peak and Lake Fremont. I just want to know what you use for bait and lures fishing from the shore. I am going this weekend, cant wait. Any info would be FANTASTIC. UTAH ROCKS

I haven't fished those particular lakes but have fished several others in that area. I always had good luck trolling Rainbow pattern Rapalas from the boat. Casting from shore with the same Raps will also work, depending on the depth of water.

One of those is a notable big brown hole. Need a boat though.

Is it impossible to catch a big brown outa one of those lakes from the shore? I guess you need to be out deep, which lake is it. Is there one you would recommend to fish from the shore over the other? Thanks

I and Bait_Caster plan to hit Bolder and NewFork lakes in the near future. We will be targeting lake trout. So post up a report once you get back.[#002850] [/#002850]

I haven't fished new fork for a few years, but I remember nonstop kokanee, and rainbows from shore. I don't remember and big fish, mostly in the 10" range. Be sure to take mosquito repellent!

[cool] Made it to New Fork lake on Saturday. The fishing from shore was awesome, I got there at 11am fished right next to the boat ramp area and got a very nice rainbow 18", also got a bunch of smaller rainbows 10-13". Cooked them over the fire pit back at the property. It was great, beautifull up there and the water was clear as it could be or maybe im just used to dirtier water every other place I fish. It was great, higly reccomend going up there.
