DeerCreek and Jordanelle
#1
Hello all, I'm new to the site just signed up, I am a tubber and would like to start bass fishing, anyone have any info on Jordy or DeerCreek? are the bass good at these places? Is there other places that I can go learn to fish for them? I heard that Jordy has some very big smallmouth in it and that people have caught some really big ones there this year, don't know if its true but heard a 7.5 came out of there this year any info would be greatly appreciated thank you all...

First off, welcome to the site![Smile] Second, there are some awesome reports coming from the Nelle and even a 23 1/2"er last week. I have seen reports of 50+ fish days and some toads. Also, depending on where you live, Pineview has been very good to me the last 2 weeks with smallies. Some to 17". Tight lines!![cool]

[cool][#0000ff]Jordanelle and Deer Creek are both "tubing friendly". You can launch off the ramps or park and hike down to the water in many places. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Most popular tubing spots on Jordanelle are at Rock Cliffs, where the Provo River comes in...and off the PWC launch ramp at Hailstone. Just kick along and work all the standard plastics and crank baits on gravel shores or visible brush.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]At Deer Creek the three best tubing spots are Walsburg Bay, The Island and Rainbow Bay. All have good launching and good fishing within an easy kick.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Go to the archives section and look up some past threads on these lakes for info on the best lures and techniques.[/#0000ff]

I fished up at Deer Creek tonight in my toon for a couple hours and caught 2 smallmouth on my flyrod, that was a blast. I also caught 2 trout, one rainbow and a real nice brown. Jordanelle is really good too, I caught a 7pounder this spring. here are the pics![Smile] The rockcliff arm up to Jordanelle has never let me down.

I caught it this spring on a rapala. It was the last weekend of April, the water was only in the high 40's at the time! Maybe we could meet up sometime, my friend is leaving on a mission for two years and I need someone to go with.[Wink]
