[cool][#0000ff]The top four baits for cats seems to be crawlers, minnows, carp meat and shrimp. After that it is a matter of both availability and creativity.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I am attaching a copy of a writeup I did on catfish baits. Hopefully it will give you some ideas.[/#0000ff]

In addition to those listed by TD, I have had success with cut bait from white bass and perch. (Not legal to use these everywhere, but where legal they work well).

Under "Bait" in the current Utah Fishing Proclamation one finds:

"Game fish or their parts may not be used, except for the following:... Dead yellow perch may be used as bait only in: Deer Creek, Fish Lake, Echo, Gunnison, Hyrum, Johnson, Jordanelle, Mantua, Mill Meadow, Newton, Pineview, Rockport, Starvation, Utah Lake, and Willard Bay reservoirs... Dead white bass may be used as bait only in Utah Lake, and the Jordan River." Be aware that at Pineview Reservoir, "Cut bait must not be larger than one inch in any dimension and no more than one piece per hook"
