Weber gate

On my way through Weber canyon yesterday I noticed a new gate.
Low in the canyon the river makes a horseshoe, the place where people go to shoot guns. There is a gate there now, anyone know why?

That area has been used for shooting firearms for years. My understanding is the government is protecting us from are self again. They have been posting signs for years no shooting is allowed but they keep getting shot down. State law requires that you need to be 200 yards from any interstate or state road, railroad, and utility lines in order to shoot firearms. I believe there is a state road, railroad, and utility lines with in 200 yard from the area were you would shoot.

The area you refer to is the old Horseshoe Bend on old highway 30 (prior to I 84). I have fished that area most of my life and have seen it go from a nice clean stretch of river to a dump. The shooters are to blame for part of the mess but there were others actually dumping their garbage in there.
