We are heading up to the gorge (firehole canyon) for the fourth, I had a couple of questions if anyone can help me out. First of all I haven't been up there since I was like five so I have no idea where to get a stamp for my license, is there anywhere in green river wyo,. And second question, what can I expect from shore on the northern end of the lake around the inlets?

I was just wondering why you would pick Firehole to go to in the summer. The water quality is not really good up there this time of year and the fishing usually sucks. Catfish maybe and I suppose some Smallmouth. I don't usually fish up there until fall. From the Blacksfork arm south would be better (in my opinion). That being said, you can expect Sage brush and tamarack bushes on the shorelines. The lake is not the deepest on that end, so there are a lot of flats and shallow areas, and the water will be at its warmest there. A lot of bikinis on swim beach around the 4th, thats always a bonus. You can pick up a stamp at the drug store in the middle of town, called Palmer's Drug. Hope this all helps, let me know how you do up there.

lol not my choice the inlaws reserved the site sight unseen for the annual family camping trip. They were kicking themselves last week when they made a trip there from dnv. Just wanted to know what to expect other than heat and sunburn. I will post what I can when I get back, might just be a bunch of pics of drunkards by the campfire lol.

Well in that case, you will fit right in because that area on the 4th will be full of locals and they are there to partyeeeee. Have a great time.

yeah if I had a choice I would be stayin home and workin on the house, but the wife only sees her family like 5 times a year and this is one of them soooo lol, well maybe I can cruise upriver aways and away from the power squad, see if there are any holes in the northern part of the green
